Do you crave connection but struggle to fully trust or feel close to others?

Maybe you notice the same patterns repeating, pulling away when things get hard, or feeling anxious when others seem distant. Somatic Attachment Therapy helps you understand where these patterns come from, so you can begin creating relationships that feel safe, mutual, and deeply fulfilling.

By combining attachment-based insights with body-based awareness, this approach gently helps you reconnect with your nervous system, understand your emotional responses, and cultivate genuine, secure bonds with yourself and the people around you.

Who Is it For?

Signs You May Be Struggling with Connection

What Is Somatic Attachment Therapy?

Somatic Attachment Therapy is an integrative approach that combines traditional attachment theory with somatic (body-based) awareness. It recognizes that relationships are not only shaped by our minds but also by our nervous systems. In this process, you’ll learn to notice your body’s signals, such as tension, withdrawal, or anxiety, as cues that reveal your attachment patterns. By bringing compassion and curiosity to these responses, you’ll begin to re-pattern how you relate to others, improving your capacity for safety, trust, and closeness. This therapy can include mindfulness, grounding techniques, and gentle somatic exercises to help regulate your nervous system and support emotional healing.

BA, MC, CCC,

Its nice to meet you!

For myself, life has been an adventure. Some mountaintops with amazing views, some valleys of loss, learning and growth. I have lived half of my life in the far north (Alaska, Yukon and Northwest Territories). In relationship I have been privileged to experience family, chosen family, parenting and partnership. I love any creative process, which sometimes looks like making pottery, writing, painting or just taking the backroad.

One of my greatest life adventures has been working with clients in counselling. I have been employed in the mental health field for many years and love the creative process of supporting clients with mental health and wellness.

My hope is that those who come in to counselling might find it to be a grounding experience, a solid base. As individuals leave counselling I hope they can move from this solid base with clear direction, connected with self and others. No matter what your lived experience may have been so far, I am happy to work with you as you actively create what you want going forward.
